More About Podcasting

Podcasts are a way of subscribing to content much like subscribing to a magazine or newspaper, except that podcasts can be audio, video, or "enhanced" content combining both images and sound. You select the podcasts you want to subscribe to through a podcast subscription program (a "podcatcher") or rss aggregator, such as that provided by iTunes, or other feed aggregator.

•• You decide when and where to enjoy your podcasts! You can view them (if they're video or enhanced podcasts) or listen to them (if they're audio podcasts) on your computer, on your handheld (such as an iPod), or on your TV if you have AppleTV or an AV cable to connect your iPod to your TV.

•• When a podcast you subscribe to is updated with a new episode, your podcast subscription program will add it to your podcasts. Some subscription programs require that you "refresh" or "update" your podcast subscriptions to retrieve the newly posted content or episodes. Often you can set the preferences in your podcast subscription program so that your podcasts are updated either manually or automatically.

•• The easiest way to receive DiveFilm video podcasts is to subscribe to the feed. You'll be able to download and view individual episodes, and you'll also have new ones delivered to you automatically as they are published.
